If you are able to do so, I humbly welcome any donations towards my campaign. Below, I have outlined the rules for campaign donations.
Who can donate? Only individuals who are residents of Ontario are able to donate. Corporations, trade unions, club, associations, or ratepayer groups are not permitted to make contributions to candidates.
There is a $1,200 limit for each individual. The total amount including a contribution of money, goods, and purchasing of tickets cannot exceed $1,200. Only a contribution of $25 or less can be made in cash.
Please note that contribution receipts are not tax receipts. Contributions to municipal council and school board campaigns cannot be credited against provincial or federal income taxes. If you donate over $100 your name and address will be listed in a public document.
