WORK & VOLUNTEER WORK

Representing you these past 4 years as your Deputy Mayor and Town and District Councillor has been one of the most meaningful things I've done.

During this term it was my mission to be fully involved and to attend every committee, every meeting and be a apart of this community as much a possible. I don't believe decisions should be made in silos and having as much information and a full view of the issue is incredibly important. In my communications to you, I have been transparent, listened to opinions and made decisions that I believe are the best for our community. Once the decisions were made, I tried to tell you the why not the what. It is important that you have a voice and that you are able to give your feedback on items that are important to our community. I promise to find new ways to communicate what is going on in our community and to listen to your feedback.

Just before the previous election, I stepped away from the Executive Director position at the Bracebridge Chamber of Commerce after 7 years. There I built strong relationships with the business owners, staff, other organizations and all levels of governments. I had built incredible relationships from listening and interacting daily with each and every one of you in our community.

Before that, I worked as a Special Projects Manager in the Faculty of Dentistry at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec (2011-2014).

During my tenure at McGill, I served as an integral part of the Qatar-McGill Project business proposal team. I was also responsible for the Faculty of Dentistry’s Academic Review and Accreditation process as well as its move to a multimillion-dollar state of the art facility.

I earned diplomas in Recreation and Leisure and Corporate Communications and Public Relations from Fanshawe College in London, Ontario (2000-2002). While at Fanshawe, I played 3 years of varsity Basketball and was named captain for my last 2 years.

Earlier in my professional career (2002-2007), I worked for a Member of Parliament in Ottawa, Ontario, where I also held positions in the Ministries of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development, and Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada. I was also one of the four candidates in the riding of Parry Sound-Muskoka in the 2007 and 2018 Provincial elections.

VOLUNTEER & CONTINUING EDUCATION

2020 - present: Executive Director of the South Muskoka Breakers Youth Basketball Club

2024 - present: Board Member for Hockey Night in Muskoka that raises funds for organizations that support people in need in our community - we have raised over $200,000 in two years

Current: Member of the Muskoka Watershed Council

2023 - 2024: Sat on the orgaizing committee for the first traditional Powwow in Bracebridge called "See Muskoka Through Our Eyes"

2023-2026: Chair of the Rosewarne Landfill Public Liaison Committee

2024 - 2026: Chair of the Bracebridge 150 Organizing Committee
